MMI Genomics is a leader in the development of highly informative, robust systems for DNA-based parent verification and diagnostic testing in livestock and companion animals.  MMI Genomics has an established service business for DNA-based parentage and identity testing in cattle, dogs and horses, that provides timely and accurate results for the needs of many breed associations, registries and individual livestock and pet owners.

From the moment your sample is received, a skilled staff initiates a series of quality-controlled processes and DNA-based tests to ensure that you receive accurate and timely results.  MMI Genomics, has extensive experience with DNA marker systems and was the first to offer microsatellite-based parent verification services in cattle. Our bovine identity and parent verification services are being widely used by both the dairy and beef industries, including the largest beef registry in the world, the American Angus Association.  DNA-based identity and parentage verification is an important tool to insure accuracy in genetic evaluation programs and to preserve breed integrity.

MMI Genomics has been a leader in canine DNA marker research and parentage testing.  MMI Genomics provides high-quality DNA services to many dog breed registries including the American Kennel Club (AKC), United Kennel Club (UKC) and Professional Kennel Club (PKC). MMI Genomics, in collaboration with the American Kennel Club, conducted one of the largest DNA markers studies across more than 100 breeds.  Recently, MMI Genomics developed an enhanced set of fourteen canine DNA markers, including a gender marker for use in its DNA testing services.  This new set of markers increases the informativeness of the DNA test and enhances quality control.

Today, MMI Genomics has genotyped well over 1 million animals generating over 17 million animal genotypes.
